LA MARQUEUSE’S NEW BOUTIQUE: THE HARMONY OF DESIGN AND JEWELLERY CRAFTSMANSHIP
The new La Marqueuse boutique at Westfield Mokotów in Warsaw is a story written with the language of light and architecture. A space where jewellery and craftsmanship intertwine with modernist design. The result is an interior attentive to detail, the nobility of materials and the boldness of form, celebrating individuality and a deliberate, original vision of beauty.
A SIGNATURE INTERIOR
The boutique’s interior is an original project by architects Zofia Wyganowska and Weronika Krygicz. By fusing contemporary minimalism with traditional craftsmanship, they shaped a space grounded in harmonious proportions, soft geometry and a subtle play of light.
The focal point of the boutique is a circular display table illuminated by a hand-formed skylight by Maciej Rafalski, whose structure evokes a raw, uncut diamond. Rafalski’s skylight is a sculptural installation in art glass with each element hand-formed and tinted so that its surface diffuses light organically, creating an atmosphere of soft, almost jewellery-like luminescence. This is the artist’s largest realization in a premium commercial setting and, at the same time, an object that fills the interior with the atmosphere of an art gallery.
THE VALUE OF A DETAIL
The interior’s foundation is built using natural materials: glass, metal, wood, and textiles. The whole is kept in a minimalistic palette of beige and grey, accentuated by light and the clarity of form. Hand-crafted details, such as the central display case set on an aluminium plinth and a pedestal carved from natural onyx, deserve special recognition. Our walls are clad in fiddleback maple, adding warmth and a sense of lightness to the space. Additionally, the structure of fiddleback maple serves as a subtle metaphor for the lustre of pearls.
DESIGN ICONS
The space’s distinctive character is further shaped by the selection of modernist pieces from the 1970s and 1980s. Among them are the President Desk by Gallotti & Radice, Edo Kisho Kurokawa’s Japanese chairs, and the iconic Cassina Cab 412 by Mario Bellini, which can also be found in MoMA’s collection. Their presence creates a dialogue between craft, modernism and contemporary elegance. The interior is completed by a collector’s lamp by Edward Magdziarz, which stands as an independent work of art.
A NEW CHAPTER IN THE HISTORY OF LA MARQUEUSE
The new La Marqueuse boutique at Westfield Mokotów is more than a functional retail space - it has been designed to serve as a scenography for jewellery: a place defined by light, proportion and a conscious selection of forms. The result is an interior that reflects the uniqueness of La Marqueuse’s compositions in every detail. This marks a new chapter for the brand, one that embodies our enduring values and hope that the new boutique will be a source of both multifaceted beauty and inspiration for our clients.
