Jewelry Care Guidelines
Protection from Chemicals
Keep your jewelry away from cosmetics and detergents, as their ingredients may cause discoloration of both the jewelry and the skin. Chemicals can permanently damage natural stones.
Caution with Thin-Walled Gold Jewelry
Jewelry made from thin-walled castings requires special care, as it may suffer permanent damage from being hit, squeezed, or dented. Avoid exposing it to impacts, pressure, abrasion, or wearing it during physical activity.
Delicate Jewelry Elements
Thin chains, necklaces, and bracelets can break or become deformed even with slight snagging or during sleep. After removing jewelry, avoid bending or tightly coiling it to prevent permanent deformation or breakage.
Natural and Synthetic Stones
Stones are susceptible to falling out, cracking, or chipping due to impact, pressure, or snagging. It is recommended to remove the jewelry before household chores, sleeping, or any physical activity.
Surfaces of Coated Jewelry
Jewelry finished with techniques such as diamond-cutting, satin-finishing, gold-plating, rhodium-plating, or patination has a thin outer layer. Excessive friction and abrasion may cause damage and cause the surface’s to wear off.
Jewelry Maintenance
Jewelry should be cleaned and polished using only specialized cleaning products.
Storage and Cleaning
Storage
Store jewelry in a dry, dark place — preferably in separate boxes or pouches — to avoid scratches. Diamonds should not come into contact with more delicate stones.
Cleaning Gold Jewelry
Jewelry without stones or with diamonds, sapphires, rubies, or emeralds can be cleaned in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, such as dish soap. Soak for a few minutes, gently clean with a soft brush, rinse, and dry with a microfiber cloth. Avoid strong detergents, vinegar, ammonia, alcohol, and boiling water.
Pearl Jewelry
Clean pearls with lukewarm water and mild soap, using a very soft brush. Pearl strands should be wiped with a slightly damp cloth — do not soak — to avoid damaging the thread.
⚠ Avoid
❌Sudden changes in water temperature
❌Hard brushes and abrasive pastes
❌Ultrasonic devices for colored stones
